The spammers and phishers are back at it again, sending out a heap of spam calendar invitations to people for bogus Microsoft 365 renewals.

Whilst Microsoft will update their spam filters in due course, many people are receiving these events and in a lot of cases there’s something going on with the calendar events such that they can’t easily be deleted from the Calendar app on macOS.

Fortunately there’s an easy solution.

In the Calendar app, go to File > New Calendar and select your Microsoft 365 account.

This will make a new, differently coloured, calendar in the left-hand sidebar.

Find the spam events you want to get rid of and drag them to the new calendar in the sidebar.

When you’ve got them all in this new calendar, right-click on the name of the calendar and select Delete.

This will delete the calendar and all contained events, without notifying the organiser that you are declining them.
