Wow. A software developer with a strong preference for open-source tries and prefers commercial alternatives over open-source for page layout. There are some well reasoned choices made in the article justifying why a commercial font and commercial software was much better for creating an important document than free alternatives.
Thank you Kai. I’m glad you liked the article. I would love to see an open source package as strong as InDesign, but I haven’t found anything like it yet. The same is true of fonts. There are some interesting open source fonts, but the commercial font world is still way ahead.
